Note: This is a sponsored post.
I’d like to see your funniest pet photos, and if you have funny stories to go along with them – even better!
I know you have some great pictures, because some of you sent them over for my dog shaming and “obedience school dropout” posts. 🙂
Well, a company called Meshare is holding a Funny Pets Photo Contest now through Oct. 7 on its Facebook page, and it’s offering $100 worth of prizes (more on that below).
Meshare is going to be a smarthome platform that connects different smarthome devices such as security cameras, doorbells and thermostats, according to the company.
The Meshare Camera is just one of the devices, and it works as a pet monitoring tool, according to Meshare.
I haven’t had a chance to try the camera, but it will be available soon, and you can pre-order it or get more information about it here.
I’m going to be entering this photo of my cats Scout and Beamer into the contest. I hope you’ll head over and vote for them here.
To enter the funny pets contest, just follow this link to go directly to Meshare’s photo contest page on Facebook. You’ll need to like the page in order to be eligible. Then, upload a funny pet photo and write a witty caption.
Once you’ve liked the page, you can also view the gallery of entries and vote on your favorites (such as Scout and Beamer!). Actually, you can vote for as many entries as you’d like!
The photo with the most votes wins. Easy enough, right?
The contest allows one entry per person, and the contest is open to U.S. residents ages 18 or older.
What about the prizes?
The person with the winning photo will receive:
[check_list]
- a $50 Amazon gift card AND
- a coupon for $50 off a Meshare Camera, so you’ll be able to monitor your pets while you’re away (the camera’s pre-order price is $99)
[/check_list]
Since the photo with the most votes wins, you’ll want to get your entries in early. The winner will be announced Oct. 8, according to Meshare.
The Meshare Camera is a smart Wi-Fi HD video monitoring camera, according to Meshare.
Its web site says the camera will allow you to:
[check_list]
- view your pets in live time or in playback mode on your smartphone using the Meshare app (available for Android & IOS)
- the option to receive alerts for motion
- talk directly with people and pets, regardless of whether you’re in the other room or traveling around the world
- easily view your camera feed from anywhere with Wi-Fi or 3G connection
- relax knowing your home and loved ones are safe and sound
[/check_list]
Here’s an example of a screenshot caught from a Meshare camera’s live video feed.
It’s tough being a loved dog, isn’t it?
Let me know if you enter the contest – I’ll vote for your pets
If you enter a photo into Meshare’s contest, make sure to let me know. I’ll share your pet’s photo on That Mutt’s Facebook page, and of course I’ll head over and vote for your pets.
You can let me know you entered by emailing me at Lindsay@ThatMutt.com. Or, just drop me a line on That Mutt’s Facebook page if that’s easier.
So what do you think? Are you going to enter?
What’s something funny your dog or cat has done lately?

I have a regular habit of kneeling by my bed in the mornings to pray. Simon joined me one morning with his front paws on the bed. He was such a distraction that I had to shoo him away. 15 minutes later I found the earpiece missing from my prescription sunglasses that he had snatched off of a table. I never figured out if he was asking for forgiveness for what he was about to do!

My French bulldog Otto used to push his ball into the garden pond. He then used to run around the pond barking and pawing at the ball to try and bounce it back out again. I happened to catch him one day as I switched on the video and a minute later he stretched too far and fell into the pond.
Luckily our pond is very shallow as frenchies cannot swim and he was able to jump out himself.
Unfortunately I lost Otto just last week as we had to send him to the Rainbow Bridge because of degenerative seizures. I miss him terribly as he was the most wonderful pet anyone could have.

I entered a photo of Maya. I caught her sleeping in the funniest position and managed to get a photo just after she woke up but before she moved.

I wish I had a photo of the 3 times I caught Laika on the kitchen counters, her face was priceless as she stood there in shock. She jumped up onto the top of the counter from the stool and was caught messing around by the sink. Like she was a cat. I'll have to see if I can dig up some funny photos, sounds like a fun contest.

Oh you should definitely enter one of Laika. She's so cute, she'd probably get a lot of votes!
