I was about to head out when my cat Scout ran across the room, dragged his butt across the carpet and left a streak mark.
Not only that but he also left a turd on the floor at the end of the streak mark.
My mutt Ace did not waste any time to run over and try to eat the fresh dropping.
We do not call Ace The Turd Burglar for nothing. He reacted so quickly to the situation that I pictured him wearing a mask and cape with the letters “TB” on the back. “Don’t worry, The Turd Burglar is here!”
This is the same dog that spends about an hour a day on average licking himself down there simply because he can.
And Scout? He probably spends two hours per day doing the same thing.
I love my dog and cats, and this reminded me not to humanize them. They are very much animals.

Our dogs used to sneak "cat fudge" all the time. Actually, with the litter it was probably more like "cat roca"!
One thing my husband and I catch ourselves doing is cleaning lint or dust off a dog toy or chew before giving it to Biggie. Then we look at each other and say, "he eats sticks." (so why are we bothering with a little dust?)

I know, it's so true, isn't it?

It really is pretty easy to anthropormorphize pets. I know that we do it with our cats. They always do something to remind us of their "animal" status though! A good reminder.
