We Have A Surprise!

In my final post of 2017, I said that 2018 would bring lots of new things for my dog Baxter and us. The biggest news is going to be a new baby.

My husband, Matt, and I are expecting our first child in early March.

We’ve been preparing for baby for the last few months and our preparation has absolutely included Baxter.

As we lead up to B(aby)-day, I’m going to be sharing some of the steps we’ve taken to ensure that Mr. B(axter) is as prepared as possible to become a big brother.

Stay tuned for posts about our plan to ensure Bax gets the exercise and attention he needs, introducing dogs to babies for the first time, establishing boundaries for baby and Bax, and more.

I’ve also reached out to some other bloggers, dog lovers, new parents and trainers for their input.

I’m hoping that this series helps other parents-to-be and their furry housemates prepare for the addition of new human housemates.

I’m also hoping to tap into the wisdom of the That Mutt community. There will be lots of opportunities for you to share your advice. I also welcome any questions. If there’s a topic that you’d like me to address in an upcoming post, please feel free to leave a comment, and I’ll do my best to find an answer for you.
