Josh, the dogs and I took a road trip to Yosemite National Park after Thanksgiving.
The dogs road in the back seat together with nothing between them (7 hour drive) and for the most part they got along well!
This was the first time they’ve cuddled, and they haven’t cuddled since!
I’m so happy I got to explore Yosemite with my old guy Ace. Memories like these are special, and I know I’m lucky just to have Ace here with us for another holiday season.
I hope all of you, my readers, are enjoying your holidays and that you get a chance to get out and explore with your family and of course your dogs!
I look forward to hearing more about all of your upcoming adventures in 2017.
Merry Christmas!

Thank you for sharing about your trip. I love the photos showcasing the gorgeous scenery, but I love the one of Ace and Remy snuggling the most! What good travelers!

What a great idea,Yosemite is such a special place anytime of yr. I live on the east coast so I treasure that memory of being there yrs ago. Have 2 rescues, border collie mix & Havanese, took a trip to Lake Winnepasakee (7hrs) in the pouring rain, with the Havanese, she turned out to be an awesome traveler. "Boarded" the border collie , smart but on the hyper side, we don't call him crazy pants for nothing! I've had dogs that did well in the car & were great hikers, others not so much, each one is different. Thank you for all the great information in yr blog, read it all the time. Happy New Year!

Love the picture of them sleeping together! Still think of Remy as a cute little puppy - he is a big, handsome dog!

Hi Lindsay!
We are about to visit Yosemite in January, and we'd love to take our dog Broccoli with us. Is it very dog friendly?
Thanks!

I wouldn't call it dog friendly but we had our dogs on some of the paved trails. In January it should be fairly quiet like it was for us in early December. With fewer people around the rules are more flexible. Dogs are allowed on certain trails and not others. And we stayed at a hotel outside of the park.
