Change a Pet’s Life Contest accepting entries now
Note: This is a sponsored post.
Jan. 24 is Change A Pet’s Life Day, and 1-800PetMeds plans to change the lives of multiple pets through a contest.
PetMeds will donate up to $2,000 to an adoptable pet’s surgery or medical treatment, according to the company. For example, the nominated pet may be in need of heartworm treatment or knee surgery.
The company encourages shelters and rescues to nominate a pet anytime from now through Jan. 15.
The contest is open to U.S. rescue groups and shelters, and PetMeds asks that nominations be made by actual representatives of the shelters/rescues. One nomination is allowed per organization.
The nomination form will ask the rescue group or shelter to submit a photo of the pet and a brief summary about the pet’s problem. It will also ask how the surgery or treatment will change the pet’s life.
The prizes
First place: PetMeds will pay for up to $2,000 of a pet’s surgery or medical treatment. A video of the rescue group or shelter and the pet will also be featured on the PetMeds web site.
Second place: PetMeds will sponsor the adoption costs of five pets for the group.
Third place: PetMeds will donage $250 to a pet’s surgery or treatment.
Voting will take place Jan. 16 to 22, which is open to anyone 18 or older, including non-U.S. residents, according to PetMeds.
The winners will be announced Jan. 23.
Change A Pet’s Life Day was started in 2009 by Hill’s Pet Nutrition to encourage pet adoptions, according to PetMeds.
Do you know of an adoptable pet who could benefit from this donation?
