Priceless Pet Rescue is making a difference
UPDATE: Otis has been adopted!
Otis may not have been alive today if it were not for Priceless Pet Rescue, in Chino Hills, Calif.
He’s a young, playful pug mix, but he requires medication to prevent seizures, according to the rescue. He also needs regular bloodwork.
Otis had a family, but due to his health issues the family had made the difficult choice to take Otis to the vet to end his life, according to the rescue.
There are two sides to every story, and I imagine the family was very sad about this and saw no other options. I don’t know, but I’m careful not to make judgments.

Priceless Pet Rescue ended up taking Otis in, and now that he’s on the correct dose of medication his seizures have been under control.
This of course costs a lot of money, and it will take a special person to adopt a young dog in need of a lifetime of medical care.
This is why Priceless Pet Rescue asked me if That Mutt could sponsor Otis.
If readers of That Mutt could help raise the $150 to cover Otis’ adoption fee, then a family could adopt Otis for free or at least at a reduced cost. This would allow that family to save the remaining money for other expenses associated with Otis’ care.
Dogs like Otis are challenging dogs for rescues to take on. Special needs dogs are often more expensive to care for, and on top of that they may also take longer to get adopted.
Sponsoring Otis’ adoption fee is one small way we can make a difference.
Readers of That Mutt also raised $140 to sponsor a pitbull mix named Gemini. UPDATE: Gemini has been adopted!
