Update: Gemini was adopted!
With your help ThatMutt.com is raising money to sponsor the adoption donation fee of a shelter or rescue dog each month.
For the month of January I picked a dog from a shelter I have worked with in the past, the Humane Society of Fargo-Moorhead in Fargo, N.D. You can learn more about the shelter here.
The dog we will be sponsoring is a black Labrador/terrier mix named Gemini (pictured above).
Gemini is an active young dog who loves to run, play and go for walks, according to her profile page. She is hoping for an active owner and even does OK with cats! She has been spayed and is up to date on vaccinations.
The cost to adopt a dog from this humane society is normally $146, plus sales tax. ThatMutt.com is raising money to sponsor that fee so a lucky person can adopt Gemini at a reduced cost. This will allow her adopter to spend the money on other things Gemini will need such as food and training. Or, her adopter may still choose to make a donation to the shelter. Either way, it’s a win for everyone.
You can make a donation of any amount using the PayPal button below, and I will give 100 percent of the money to the humane society as part of Gemini’s sponsorship. If we raise more than enough money, I will choose a second dog to sponsor at the same shelter. You can donate any amount. Those who donate $20 or more will receive a FREE 2014 Mutt Calendar.

Due to the work of shelters and rescue groups in Fargo, the local pounds did not kill any healthy, adoptable dogs or cats in 2013, according to the humane society. Not one.
If you know of a shelter or rescue group that could benefit from having a dog’s adoption donation fee sponsored in February, please send your nominations to Lindsay@ThatMutt.com.
