Black lab mix for adoption
Who remembers the good boy named Dex I featured a while back?
Dex is a playful lab-type dog currently up for adoption with 4 Luv of Dog Rescue in Fargo, N.D.
While he waits for someone to adopt him, Dex is living at a dog boarding and training facility where he gets to play with a large variety of dogs all day long!
He is a great dog because he is friendly and gentle with other animals and kids.
“Dex is a total sweetie, and he is doing well,” said kennel staff member Dana Fiedler. “He knows how to sit and stay and wait for his meals and always seems like he is happy!”
Prior to living at the facility, Dex had some anxiety issues when left alone, but Fiedler said he shows no signs of anxiety at the kennel. He plays great with all types of dogs, and he is wiped out by bedtime! He sleeps well through the night.
“All of us at the kennel love him,” Fiedler said. “He is one of the easiest foster dogs we have had.”
Good boy, Dex!
The sad thing with Dex, though, is that he’s been without a real home for way too long. I would love to see him get into a foster home at an actual house. The boarding kennel is so generous to help him out for now by providing him with love, attention and a place to live.
Dex seems to be having a good old time, as dogs tend to do. Still, I’m rootin’ for him and hope he finds his person soon.
More about adopting Dex
That Mutt is sponsoring half of Dex’s adoption donation fee (normally $165), which means Dex is available for $82.50 (plus tax).
Dex is about 2 years old. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and knows basic commands.
To adopt Dex, the first step is to fill out a pre-adoption application with 4 Luv of Dog. In order to adopt a dog from the rescue, you will need to provide three personal references and complete an informal home visit with a rescue volunteer. The rescue will adopt out dogs beyond North Dakota and Minnesota to the right adopter. You can read more about Dex on his profile with the rescue.
If you would like to meet Dex, contact the rescue and it will help arrange a time for you to meet him. Unfortunately, because he is being boarded out of town, he will not be at every adoption event. Let me know if you have any trouble contacting the rescue. I would be happy to help.
You can help Dex by spreading the word about his adoption special and by telling everyone what a good dog he is!
