The DNA test results are in – what’s your guess?
Anyone care to take a guess on this little guy’s breed mix?
Kuba was adopted three months ago from the Los Angeles County Animal Care & Control in Lancaster, Calif., by blog reader Anna S.
Anna said her pup is about six months old now and weighs around 45 pounds. OK, so he’s not so little anymore!
Kuba loves to chase a ball or frisbee, loves to play with people and other dogs, and he loves to run – sometimes in circles!
“He also loves to chew on bones and sticks and anything else he can get his mouth on,” she said. “He’s very ‘talkative’ and naughty. Let’s hope it’s just a puppy thing.”
Ha! Sounds like a typical puppy! 🙂
More about Kuba
“He doesn’t mind wearing a backpack,” Anna said. “He’s pretty confident and very smart – loves to learn tricks for treats, and I should really start formal obedience with him.”
Anna decided to try a dog DNA test with Kuba, and she has the results.

How you can win a bag of Caru Natural Dog Treats
For your chance to win a bag of dog treats from Caru Natural Treats, just leave your guess on Kuba’s breeds in the comments.
The company will send a free bag of treats to the two people who guess the closest. If there’s a tie (or if no one guesses correctly), I’ll do a random drawing.
I’ll announce Kuba’s official DNA results next Saturday, along with the two closest winners. (Must have a U.S. or Canadian mailing address to win the treats.)
More about Caru
Caru Pet Food Company is a family-owned business operated by two Canadians, according to its web site. Caru means “to love” in Welsh, and the company offers natural stews and treats for dogs.
Caru stews are FDA verified and made with 100 percent human-grade ingredients, according to its Facebook page. They are also grain and gluten free and made in the United States with non-GMO ingredients.
OK, so let me know your best guess on Kuba’s breeds!
Here’s my guess: German shepherd/cattle dog, although I think he looks like a purebred German shepherd!

He's gorgeous, and I'm sure he's quite a little handful lol. I certainly don't want to relive the puppy GSD or GSD mix days ever again.. It was a bit chaotic to say the least.

German Shepherd for sure. Those ears cry Border Collie, perhaps Husky mix.
